Hyaluronic acid is a natural agent in the body, we have it in our skin, synovial fluids and joints, one function of it is to retain water– therefore smoothens any permanent lines formed by repetitive facial muscle movement or dehydration due to aging or environment exposure. Environmental effects such as pollution, sun exposure, stress and smoking can all increase dehydration, causing aging.

For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize temporary injection-related reactions such as redness, itching at the treatment site, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. Studies have shown that these reactions are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or less. Applying an ice pack if you experience swelling at the injection site will be helpful as well as the advice our clinic will offer you.
